Recent experimental studies have measured the infrared (IR) spectrum of tip-scattered near-field thermal radiation for a SiC substrate and observed up to a 50 cm − 1 redshift of the surface phonon polariton (SPhP) resonance peak,.However, the observed spectral redshift cannot be explained by the conventional near-field thermal radiation model based on the point dipole approximation. This paper addresses the subject of electromagnetic wave scattering in layered media, thus covering the recent progress achieved with different approaches. Existing theories and models are analyzed, classified, and summarized on the basis of their characteristics. Emphasis is placed on both theoretical and practical application. Finally, patterns and trends in the current literature are.

MODELING 3-D OBJECTS WITH PLANAR SURFACES FOR PREDICTION OF ELECTROMAGNETIC SCATTERING INTRODUCTION Many techniques exist for the solution of electromagnetic scattering problems. Solution techniques are determined by the electrical region into which the scattering object falls.

These regions are determined according to the size of the scattering object in relation to the. Electromagnetic scattering analysis of objects at resonance is difficult because low frequency techniques are slow and computer intensive, and high frequency techniques may not be reliable.

A new technique for predicting the electromagnetic backscatter from electrically conducting objects at resonance is studied. This technique is based on modeling three dimensional objects as Author: M. Koch, F. Beck, C. Cockrell. Modeling the electromagnetic scattering by 3-D objects in a layered media (U) 5a.

A model of acoustic scattering from spherical targets above a planar seafloor is established on a condition of irradiation by a point source, with both of T matrix method and complex images method.

The previously described surface wave generator is located in a 3×3×3 m 3 anechoic chamber equipped with translational and rotational stages. The emitting antenna is a high-gain pyramidal horn antenna. The receiving antenna (ridged horn antenna DRGHA ) is mounted on a rotation system thus providing a circular path in the scattering plane above the prism (Fig.

The formulation consists of combining a perturbative solution for modeling propagation through the rough surface with a transition (T-) matrix solution for scattering by the object near a planar surface. All media bounding the rough surface are. This lumped model is also a circuit domain representation of electromagnetic interactions.

It can be used to simulate circuits incorporating planar magnetics, to visualize the electromagnetic fields, and to extract parameters for magnetic models by simulations.

The modeling results match with previous theories and finite-element-modeling results. In order to calculate 3D electromagnetic scattering problems by dielectric objects which we need to solve a large‐size simultaneous linear equation, we present a rapid algorithm on the Yasuura method where we accelerate the convergence rate of solution by using an array of multipoles as well as a conventional multipole.High performance planar electromagnetic sensors, their modeling and a fewapplications have been reported in this paper.

The researches employing planar typeelectromagnetic sensors have started quite a few years back with the initial emphasis on theinspection of defects on printed circuit board. The use of the planar type sensing system hasbeen extended for the evaluation of near-surface.Ideally, you should apply a 3-D transient electromagnetic analysis to the planar design to provide the full harmonic content, and couple this with a thermal analysis to properly predict the losses without tedious build and test iterations.
